On Friday May 20th, 2011,  Calabrese flew from their  black leather bat wings and landed at Reggies Rock Room, playing for us. Collars were up, fangs were out and they were  out of their coffins and ready to rock.

Needless to say it was quite a memorable and most enchanting show  I have ever experienced . Other bands joined them and played on the bill, here was the roster, Nothing to Gain, The Ugly, The Gravetones and The Krank Daddies all great bands with horror in the mix. This was a night of  Horror Rockabilly/ Psychobilly and  what  made this show  amazing was the fact that each band complimented each other and really lead us to the main event.

Calabrese headlined at it was the talk of the town and what we have been waiting for with anticaption and fervor.

Calabrese hails from Phoenix Arizona, consisting of  Davey Calabrese, lead singer and Drums, Bobby Calabrese Guitars and Vocals and Jimmy Calabrese, Bass Guitar and Vocals. These three were all brothers by true blood.  I was surprised to see even their dad was working  their merch booth.  This is one family that is balls to the wall,  dedicated to the bone and works hand over fist to the job done .

First of all  let me say they  have the best looking merchandise out of any band I haven seen. There was quite a tasty assortment to sink your teeth into. There was t-shirts,baby dolls, hoodies, work shirts,  tote bags, cds, stickers, patches, limited edition posters, necklace, comic book,  and other neat things all high quality, cool and unique as ever horror oriented to the core. Everything was reasonably priced and on hand . Alot was rare and  in demand.  Several people bought just about everything they had that wasn’t nailed down.

Davey Calabrese jumped out the shadows and sang his black heart and soul out to the overly excited crowd. All the classics were heard, “Vampires Don’t Exist”,” Zombie I, ” Backseat of My Hearse”, ” Children of the Night ” and others that kept us asking for more. Everyone knew the words and sang them back to Calabrese as if we were all in a hypnotic vampire trance, programmed to give the band what they wanted with no refusal and that is just what we did. The crowd  formed a pit from hell that seemed to go on forever as blood, sweat and wallets flew in the air in a danse crazed tornado. Calabrese delivered all evils as promised and then some. This was truely an experience that forever will change you  and with that said,  there is only one thing to do, jump out of your  coffins, rock out,  become one,   join them for a bite and bask in everlasting lite, be one of us, be one of them, do u dare? ~ muahahahahah ~
