Batmobile updates with Johnny Zuidhof

Posted by Dee-Ann On March - 31 - 2011

After talking to Eric Hammer of Batmobile and having a conversation about his guitar collection, which was a surprise for me as I know Eric as a bassplayer, I was curious about Johnny, the drummer of Batmobile. Did he have some surprises for us in store too?

Pinup of the week: KillerQueen

Posted by Dee-Ann On March - 28 - 2011

Photo by Bart van der Voort

Hi guys! I’m Tessa, music teacher and part-time model from the centre of Holland. Since about 2006 I had the pleasure of doing a lot of shoots, mostly goth- and fantasy related, but lately also pinup style. The first shoot was after a photographer asked me at a fantasy fair. We still shoot a lot, because the artistical chemistry between us is just huge. It still amazes me how being a good model has little to do with being the prettiest or having the biggest.. well.. uh… “talents”. I enjoy myself enormously at a shoot and like to have a lot of fun with the photographer and other models. Pinup is my style of the moment, because of the sensuality covered by light-hearted poses and giggles.  While teaching music is my daytime job, the real rockin’ takes place in the weekends. That’s what makes me a R&R Sinner.

Natural Born Killers

I wrote this review a couple of years ago, but it still seems relevant today.

Heard on radio this morning: (about Scarborough area in Toronto) “Oh there hasn’t been a shooting there in awhile! And by awhile I mean hours!” (laughs)

Eric Hammer about guitars part II

Posted by Dee-Ann On March - 25 - 2011

Couple of weeks ago I talked to Eric about his favorite guitar. But he’s got a whole collection of beautiful and unique guitars. I love it when someone is passionate about something, so I let him talk a little more about his babies:

Eric's Flying V (arm and tattoo is not Eric's)

You say you have a collection of 20 guitars. Tell us more about them.
Yes I have. I like most guitars from the ’60. It’s a thrill to buy them for something like 200 euro’s. And sometimes I buy a guitar because of it’s funny shape. I have a broad range of guitars from cheap to expensive and different kind of qualities. My brother Jeroen has less guitars but more expensive and all of good quality.

Pinup of the week: Señorita-D

My name is Denise A.K.A Señorita-D, I am 24 years old and I live in Tilburg.
I always have been a very creative girl and thats why I love pin-up photos and modelling. I’m actually collecting photos, and try a lot of new things. I think this kind of pictures are sexy, dary, but also represent innocence, I like them in Black and white, but also in beautiful fifties-colors. It is so much fun to choose the whole outfit, and getting you’re hair and make up done. I get the inspiration everywhere. Especially in my favorite movies.
Besides modelling I like a lot of other things. A few of those things are: Watching Cult-and horror movies, and of course I am a big fan of Quentin Tarantino, Johnny Cash, animals, cooking, the summer, Rockabilly, westernboots, tattoos, red lipstick, shopping, american cars…but most of all being with and loving my boyfriend! I’m a very romantic girl…

I have done a lot of different kind of modelling and also boypainting, but Pin-Up photoshoots surely are my favorite and I would love to do only that kind of photoshoots in the future. It is so much fun!

Pinup of the week: Necia Navine

Posted by Dee-Ann On March - 7 - 2011

Photo by Paula-Kim and Necia Navine

My name is Necia Navine and I live in Deventer, The Netherlands.
I started modeling about 2 years ago, I worked at a photo studio ( UrsulaFotografie ) and the photographer regularly took pictures of me. I discovered that I loved to pose, and thanks to her I got a fantastic portfolio from the beginning! And so the story began..
I like Fetish, Glamour and Artistic/Conceptual shots the most.
In the fetish and glamour world it’s all about seduction, I get to be feminine, sexy, sensual, it’s a great way to make you feel good about yourself. With artistic/conceptual shoots I get a chance to really let myself go, put all of my feelings into a shoot, I like to show my darker side sometimes. It feels great to just let everything go like that.

I’ve always been different, I’m not really a rock chick, I’m not really a punker, I’m not really “scene”, I’m not indie, I’m just me! I believe that all of the models at Rock ‘n Roll sinners have their own unique style and look… But hey, I’ll admit, it feels great to be a sinner sometimes!

“Whatever happened to rock ‘n’ roll” is the title of the new album by Mojokings. If that is a question, the answer would be: Mojokings are what happened to rock and roll. A perfect combination of garage, trash, psycho-rockabilly and hard rock and roll.

The cd is recorded at The Mill Studio in Winfarthing over the Summer and Autumn of 2010 and is to be released on March 4th 2011 on Bad Soul Records.

Superb guitarwork by Paul Scoulding and a pounding rhythmsection: Olly Simmonds on drums and Richard Scoulding on the double bass.
